Last week was a busy one for us and that lent itself, quite nicely I might add, to eating out alot! So much has changed in the six years I have been here, and it has all been very welcomed change. Here is a rundown of last week in dining!
Monday: - Got home late and wanted something close to home, luckily we now have several options so we chose Filet's http://www.filetsrestaurant.com/index.html, located at Harborgate Marina overlooking the intercoastal waterway. Filet's has a large deck with a tiki bar, all of which was recently covered. Who ever though of this was a genius, as it gets you out of the hot sun and allows use of the deck in the event of rain. We couldn't decide on what to order so got some apps and sushi. Make no mistake, the best sushi in town is found at Miyabis, but Filet's is fresh and has some creative rolls, as well as a decent happy hour and great off season specials.
Tuesday:- Jay's Asian Bistro -http://www.jaysasianfusion.com/ Another little gem located off highway 9 in Longs just a few miles from us again. The menu features Japanese, Thai and Chinese, but apart from the Crispy duck, we can't get away from the sushi! Always very fresh and creative, the sushi chef Leo's presentations are stunning. Try the NMB roll!
Wednesday:- Chianti South - This long standing favorite is located in a house surrounded by large live oaks. Frank added a deck off the bar area with a beautifully landscaped couryard complete with a fountain. The tranquil setting transported us and we enjoyed a lovely evening. We had the doggie with us and they were happy to cook him a chicken breast. A botte of Bell Gloss Clark and Telephone Pinot, the BEAST bread on the beach, and some always great italian food!
Thursday:- Ruth's Chris - http://www.ruthschris.com/Steak-House/19927/Myrtle-BeachAlthough we try to dine only locally, we do make exceptions on an occasional basis, tonight was one such time. 8:30 foud me still without dinner and getting a bit desperate still forty minutes from home. Last minute decision and a quick left brought us to this restaurant that has been opened for a little over a year. They run some good specials including prix fixe choices, and a good by the glass list (for this area).
Friday:- We dined at some dear friends house!
